Pewter has been used for thousands of years, with the Ancient Egyptians in fact being the first recorded civilisations to use the alloy metal. It was then in the times of the Roman Empire that pewter was introduced to Britain. During the middle ages it was used primarily in churches but also increasingly for tableware.

Today, the skilled process of crafting out of pewter lives on in Britain. Its subtle beauty and tactile nature means that it is still a fantastic material to shape into gorgeous designs of a soft and lustrous sheen.
